      Always Count From a Stop

      • Wind the adjuster to a hard stop, then count back from there.
      • Never count from wherever the knob happens to be sitting.
      • Never trust a previous owner's marks.
      • "Three clicks softer" means nothing without a reference. "Eight from the stop" is a setting someone else can reproduce.

      Write It Down

      • Record what you ran, where, in what conditions, and what the car did.
      • A setup you cannot reproduce is not a setup.

Change One Thing at a Time

      • One or two clicks is a real, feelable difference on most kits.
      • Change one adjuster or one end of the car, drive it, decide, then move on.
      • Changing several things at once tells you nothing about which one helped.

      If Nothing Changes

      • Stop turning knobs.
      • Either something is not doing what you think it is, or the problem is not damping — it may be spring rate, geometry or tyres.
      • Contact us rather than winding to the ends and hoping.
